On the 1st of February, 2008, Koda Kumi commented on a question about "whether she would like to have children or not". Her answer was something along the lines of "Yes, but before I am 35 years old. I think that the amniotic fluid from pregnant women about 35 years old is rotten", and ended the comment with a laugh.

The answer was so offensive that many radio shows and newspapers had a lot complaints from women around the country. Avex Trax decided that all promotion of her new album Kingdom will be canceled, her official website has been shut down, and so was her Kose Visee web page. A week later, Koda Kumi appeared in an exclusive interview on Fuji TV's "FNN Super News" to apologize for the remark she made. Even though she tearfully apologized for the harm she caused, reactions to Koda's apology were mostly negative. An informal poll taken after the broadcast through Sankei Sports' website indicated that 81% of the viewers felt the apology was insufficient, while only 9% said it was enough.

There is a rumor about the cancellation of her new tour named "Koda Kumi LIVE TOUR 2008 ~Kingdom~". With 16 concerts scheduled starting on April 12, the postponement could cost Avex several hundred million yen.

i didn't think she would say something like that. also she should be more careful on what she says after all her image is very important

I'm kinda surprised the whole thing is turning like that. I mean nobody seems shocked to she her half-naked in her clips or doing very suggestive dances on concert, but for that her whole promotion and concerts are cancelled. I don't think it wothes it.
I mean okay people can find this wasn't something to tell, but afterall this was a joke, and actually by this she meant she didn't wanted children, and that's her choice.

She has shown she was an emancipated women, if she does not want any kids that her choice no?

And that really something bad for her carreer I think. And I'm kinda disapointed this has turned out to be so big.
However if this would have been done before I thnik the album wouldn't have been released, so somehow it's a relief

I've just noticed that she has sold 579,493 copies of Kingdom. Without this scandal I think she could've sell more than 1 million like Black Cherry.

MOON is Koda Kumi's 40th single. It will be released in two versions, a CD+DVD and a CD only version. This is the first single since her last album Kingdom. Moon Crying was used as the drama Puzzle (パズル)'s theme song, which begins on 2008.04.18. One of the untitled songs was written by PUSHIM.

(I think they should have put the song as a A-Side, it would have boosted the single sales to have her...)
