What is your heritage and family history?

Ok i had to do a paper for school about culture and that got me wondering about peoples heritage, family history, and culture.

well heres mine, I come from Mexican decent, both my parents were born in Mexico. my father's great-grandfather was Native American so i have alittle of that. and my mother's grandfather was German or some kind European (he had light skin and blue eyes).
But we are moslty Mexican, and i was born here in the United States in Chicago.

We still act kinda Mexican-ish, but i've been told several times that i act "white" and i have been confused for being white and or asian before (because i have light skin and i've been told that i have asiany looking eyes (but i don't see it ))

I speak mostly in English but i know how to speak Spanish because my parents speak mostly in Spanish.

I was born in a little island near middle america (actually near Jamaica, and moved to France when I was a child.

As growing up to France, I kinda lost my links with my "heritage" (like accent or behavior), and now I just feel French now (I've been more in France actually, and my island beign part of France, I've always had the french nationaity)
Same for my older sister, even tho she's more like a "black activist" (like thinking there's always kind of racism when trying to get a job a house etc...), but she lives in Paris, and Paris has more communities (like chinese, afican neighbors...)
I don't feel the same way as her, even tho I'm actually blacker than her

My mother speaks creole and I can understand it, but since I'm a child, my mother only allowed me to speak french, and now I prefer to speak french as I consider it to be a more beautiful language.

Actually a lot of people get me wrong thinking I'm from India (even Indians btw ), but I think it's because we have a lot of ethnic melting in my familly so that I look Indian and my sister looks like algerian/portuguese (light skin, curly hair)
so it's really strange

Hehe cool i've been wondering that. i actually thought you were Indian too when i first saw your pic, sorry but i was thinking that you didn't look that much like and Indian person so this helped solve a question i had

oh rijii i'd never had tought you were born on an island outside france..from what i now about you i just tought you were a 100% french little boy...well really glad to know more about you ...mate...also from d90..this was a really interesting initiative...i hope people would get here and talk more about their descent and their heritage....as far as im concerned..im from morocco..but because my parents have lived mostly in the US-France and Uk (because my grandfathers and grandmothers were diplomats) i've been speaking mostly in french and english while living in morocco...if you have any question about sth feel free to ....
